Generating golden Syrian hamsters with conditional alleles via zygote microinjection of CRISPR/Cas9
We established the first conditional knockout (cKO) model in the golden Syrian hamster by CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated genome editing. Cas9 protein, two sgRNAs, and a donor plasmid carrying loxP‐flanked exon 2 of the ApoF gene were microinjected into one‐cell embryos. The floxed allele was efficiently generated (up to 27%) and transmitted through the germline.

Global ecological predictors of the soil priming effect. [PDF]
Identifying the global drivers of soil priming is essential to understanding C cycling in terrestrial ecosystems. We conducted a survey of soils across 86 globally-distributed locations, spanning a wide range of climates, biotic communities, and soil ...

Effects of diurnal warming on soil respiration are not equal to the summed effects of day and night warming in a temperate steppe [PDF]
The magnitude of daily minimum temperature increase is greater than that of daily maximum temperature increase under climate warming. This study was conducted to examine whether changes in soil respiration under diurnal warming are equal to the summed ...

ABSTRACT The continuous increasing discharge of synthetic dyes into aquatic systems seems to be an important environmental and health risk due to their high toxicity and resistance to biodegradation. Among these dyes, methylene blue (MB) and Congo red (CR) are widely used in textile and industrial applications, necessitating sustainable and efficient ...

Increased CO2 loss from vegetated drained lake tundra ecosystems due to flooding [PDF]
Tundra ecosystems are especially sensitive to climate change, which is particularly rapid in high northern latitudes resulting in significant alterations in temperature and soil moisture.
