The recognition that different ecosystems respond differently to environmental hazards requires ecosystem classification. ScopeSim is a general-purpose observation data simulation ecosystem for astronomical instruments. It allows users to simulate observations with multiple instruments for the same (often custom built) target description using a common software platform, thus enabling “apples-to-apples” comparisons of the outputs.
