Balancing ecotourism and wildlife management through a conservation behavior approach

Faecal cortisol levels in a wild Iberian red deer population are best explained by prior weather conditions

We analysed the influence of prior weather conditions, seasonality, sex, influx of ecotourism and nutrition on cortisol and T3 levels of a wild population of red deer. Our results indicate that prior climatic conditions, rather than just seasonality, best explained the variations of these hormones within seasons and among years.
