Abstract Hyperpycnal (negatively buoyant) river inflow into lakes and oceans often develops three‐dimensional (3D) plunging flow patterns when laterally unconfined. To determine the 3D flow pattern characteristics, laboratory experiments of laterally unconfined plunging on a sloping bed were carried out using salinity to control the density difference.

This paper explores infrastructural disruptions of utility provisioning caused by stealing of copper infrastructural parts in a copper‐processing town in Serbia. Such illicit practices of infrastructural stripping were part of copper circulation via theft, cynically referred to as ‘recycling’ of copper, and were incentivised by increased copper price ...

Review of wave‐turbulence interactions in the stable atmospheric boundary layer
Abstract Flow in a stably stratified environment is characterized by anisotropic and intermittent turbulence and wavelike motions of varying amplitudes and periods. Understanding turbulence intermittency and wave‐turbulence interactions in a stably stratified flow remains a challenging issue in geosciences including planetary atmospheres and oceans ...

Unsedated Transnasal Endoscopy: A Canadian Experience in Daily Practice
BACKGROUND: Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is the most frequently performed diagnostic procedure for upper gastrointestinal disorders. The procedure is routinely performed under conscious sedation in North America. A significant proportion of morbidity and mortality associated with EGD is related to hypoxia due to conscious sedation.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy
Sixty‐five patients who had endoscopic placement of a feeding tube between April 1984 and November 1987, were reviewed. Mean follow‐up was 245 days (range one to 1391 days). The most common indication for gastrostomy insertion was a neurologic disorder (83%) Prophylactic antibiotic (cefoxitin) was given to 55% of patients (86% from one hospital). Minor
