Retracted: Low-Carbon Economic Dispatch of Integrated Energy System Considering Expanding Carbon Emission Flows

open access: yesIEEE Access
To address the issues of low coordination in low-carbon operation between Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) devices and Power to Gas (P2G) devices in integrated energy systems (IES), as well as the inaccurate characterization of carbon emissions from ...

Simulating X-ray Supercavities and Their Impact on Galaxy Clusters

open access: yes, 2010
Recent X-ray observations of hot gas in the galaxy cluster MS 0735.6+7421 reveal huge radio-bright, quasi-bipolar X-ray cavities having a total energy ~10^{62} ergs, the most energetic AGN outburst currently known.

Thermoelectric power of nondegenerate Kane semiconductors under the conditions of mutual electron-phonon drag in a high electric field

open access: yes, 2003
The thermoelectric power of nondegenerate Kane semiconductors with due regard for the electron and phonon heating, and their thermal and mutual drags is investigated. The electron spectrum is taken in the Kane two-band form.

Hydrodynamic Simulation of Supernova Remnants Including Efficient Particle Acceleration

open access: yes, 2003
A number of supernova remnants (SNRs) show nonthermal X-rays assumed to be synchrotron emission from shock accelerated TeV electrons. The existence of these TeV electrons strongly suggests that the shocks in SNRs are sources of galactic cosmic rays (CRs).

Microwave Discharge Ion Sources

open access: yes, 2014
This chapter describes the basic principles, design features and characteristics of microwave discharge ion sources. A suitable source for the production of intense beams for high-power accelerators must satisfy the requirements of high brightness ...

Electron cyclotron resonance near the axis of the gas-dynamic trap

open access: yes, 2012
Propagation of an extraordinary electromagnetic wave in the vicinity of electron cyclotron resonance surface in an open linear trap is studied analytically, taking into account inhomogeneity of the magnetic field in paraxial approximation.

Showcase continued: GoWell [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
There is a large body of evidence showing that living in a deprived neighbourhood is associated with poor health and life chances and there is an expectation that improvement to housing and neighbourhood conditions will improve health, however there ...

Low Earth orbital atomic oxygen environmental simulation facility for space materials evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes
Simulation of low Earth orbit atomic oxygen for accelerated exposure in ground-based facilities is necessary for the durability evaluation of space power system component materials for Space Station Freedom (SSF) and future missions. A facility developed

Modeling of the ECR plasma heating under a randomly pulsing electric field

open access: yes, 2020
The results of modeling of the ECR plasma heating in the CERA-RX facility under a randomly pulsing electric field are presented. It is found that the electron energy spectrum is shifted to the high energy region due to the interaction of the electrons with the pulsing electric field. The obtained effect depends on polarity of the pulse electric field.
