The African species of Theganopteryx (Blattaria, Ectobiidae)

Systematic Entomology, 1978
Abstract Twenty‐one species of the genus Theganopteryx are known from Africa and the genus is probably confined to this continent. A key is provided to the males of twenty species, and eight new species are described: affinis ...

Austroectobius invunche: new genus and species of Ectobiidae for Chile (Insecta, Blattaria)

Zootaxa, 2018
We describe a new genus and species of Chilean Blattodea (Ectobiidae), collected on Isla Grande de Chiloé and associated with Fascicularia bicolor (Bromeliaceae). We study the morphology of both sexes with SEM. The new taxon is brachypterous, with tiny ellipsoid tegmina and hind wings absent.

Insecticide resistance and its potential mechanisms in field-collected German cockroaches (Blattodea: Ectobiidae) from Thailand

Journal of Economic Entomology, 2023
AbstractWe investigated insecticide resistance profiles of field populations of the German cockroach, Blattella germanica (L.), collected from central regions of Thailand. Seven strains (PW, RB, MTH, MTS, TL, AY, and SP) were evaluated with diagnostic doses (DD; 3 × LD95 generated from a susceptible strain) of deltamethrin, fipronil, and imidacloprid ...

Toxicity of isocycloseram, an isoxazoline insecticide, against laboratory and field-collected German cockroaches (Blattodea: Ectobiidae)

Journal of Economic Entomology
Abstract Isocycloseram is a new insecticide in the isoxazoline class that targets insect GABA-gated chloride channels. In this study, we evaluated a cockroach gel bait formulation containing 1% isocycloseram against a susceptible strain (UCR) and 5 field-collected strains (WM, RG386, Ryan, CDR, and SY) of the German cockroach, Blattella ...

One new genus of cockroach in the Neotropical subfamily Nyctiborinae (Dictyoptera: Blattodea: Ectobiidae)

Zootaxa, 2013
The genus Nyctantonina gen. nov. and its two species Nyctantonina breviclasma sp. nov. and Nyctantonina pteromacro-tata sp. nov. are described and illustrated. Dichotomous key to identify the species of genus is given.

Behavioral resistance of the german cockroach Blattella Germanica (Blattodea: Ectobiidae) (review)

Disinfection affairs
Behavioral resistance is divided into stimulus-independent and stimulus-dependent. Stimulus-independent behavioral resistance arises from behavior that results in natural avoidance of environments or situations in which the insect might be exposed to an insecticide, likely driven by the evolution of innate behaviors/pathways.

Two New Species of Ectobiidae (Blattaria) Collected in the Santa Lúcia Biological Reserve, Espírito Santo, Brazil

Neotropical Entomology, 2012
This contribution describes and illustrates the male genitalia of two new species of Ectobiidae belonging to Pseudophyllodromiinae, Chorisoneura Brunner von Wattenwyl, and Blattellinae, Xestoblatta Hebard. Both species were collected in the Santa Lúcia Biological Reserve in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil.

New cockroaches from Far North Queensland, Australia (Blattodea: Ectobiidae: Blattellinae; Pseudophyllodromiinae)

Zootaxa
Five new species in two subfamilies of Ectobiidae are described, including one new genus, with notes on habitat and biology. The Blattellinae is represented by Carbrunneria cattana Rentz and Su, sp. nov., a species known from Cattana Wetlands, Smithfield Queensland. It is related to both C. maxi (Roth) and C. paramaxi (Roth).

A new amber representative of the genus Ectobius Stephens, 1835 (Blattodea: Ectobiidae) from Storebælt (Denmark)

Zootaxa
A new fossil cockroach, Ectobius danekrae sp. nov., is described on the basis of a single male adult individual from late Eocene Danish amber. This is the third representative of the genus Ectobius Stephens, 1835 from Eocene ambers. The new species exhibits plesiomorphic characters of small right stylus and subsymmetrical claws, compared to the known ...

Revision of the genus Dziriblatta Chopard, 1936 (Blattodea, Ectobiidae, Ectobiinae). III. The species of the subgenus Dziriblatta

Zootaxa, 2021
The present paper is the third part of a revision of the genus Dziriblatta and treats the nominal subgenus Dziriblatta and its species. The subgenus contains 10 species of which 8 are new to science. The species can be distributed to two species groups: the bolivari-species group with Dz. (Dz.) algerica, Dz. (Dz.) bolivari, Dz.
