The Protein Complement of Ectomycorrhizas
1995Proteins have important functions in biological systems. Structural proteins (e.g. the cytoskeleton) are essential for shape and motion of cells and organelles. Enzymes mediate the turnover of substances in primary and secondary metabolism and accomplish the reduplication of DNA as well as the transcription and translation of RNA.
