Neonatal Outcome following External Cephalic Version (ECV)—Comparison between Vaginal Birth after Successful ECV and Elective Caesarean Section after Unsuccessful ECV [PDF]

open access: goldJournal of Clinical Medicine
Introduction: In 3–6% of pregnancies, foetuses can be expected to be in a breech presentation near term. Consultation concerning further management of the pregnancy, including the option of an external cephalic version (ECV), is recommended by international guidelines (RCOG, ACOG, and DGGG).

Automated inline extracellular volume (ECV) mapping [PDF]

open access: goldJournal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, 2015
Background Quantitative extracellular volume (ECV) estimates based on T1 mapping have potential for characterizing cardiomyopathies with diffuse fibrosis and edema [1,2]. An unsupervised approach for generating pixel-wise ECV maps was recently introduced [3].

Excellent Reproducibility of Synthetic Extracellular Volume Without Blood Extraction Across Different Cardiomyopathies Using Published Regression Models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease
T1 mapping and extracellular volume (ECV) calculations in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) have the potential to identify early fibrosis that is not yet visible using late gadolinium enhancement; however, the need for same-day blood draws due to the ...

Toxicity of fatty acids on ECV-304 endothelial cells

open access: greenToxicology in Vitro, 2011
The effects of stearic (saturated) or oleic (monounsaturated) acids and their combination with ω-3 and ω-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) on death of endothelial cells (ECV-304 cell line) were investigated. We examined: loss of plasma membrane integrity, DNA fragmentation, accumulation of neutral lipids (NL) and release of reactive oxygen species ...

Effect of Super-Specialization in External Cephalic Version: A Comparative Study

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2022
Background: The introduction of an experienced dedicated team is not a completely studied fact. Several studies reported a high external cephalic version (ECV) success rate when the procedure is executed by a single operator or a dedicated team.

Performance of automated ECV maps versus conventionally calculated ECV [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, 2015
Background The extracellular volume fraction (ECV) is a surrogate marker for diffuse myocardial fibrosis. ECV is calculated from preand post-contrast T1 maps and corrected for hematocrit (Hct). Current workflows are cumbersome, but an automated ECV map tool simplifies this and could promote adoption into routine clinical practice.
