Autonomic Function in Fragile X Syndrome: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Intellectual Disability Research, Volume 70, Issue 8, Page 773-787, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is a monogenic X‐linked cause of intellectual disability and autism. Individuals with FXS often have high levels of anxiety and sometimes display challenging behaviours. Autonomic dysfunction has been suggested to be one physiological mechanism that may contribute to these.

Evaluating the Risk Assessment: Determining Insights and Challenges of Climate Risk Prediction Using Supervised Technology

open access: yesNatural Resource Modeling, Volume 39, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT In a world of expanding urbanization, which causes climate change and has adverse impacts and risks, our research introduces an intuitive and user‐friendly dashboard named Climate Risk Mitigation Dashboard (CRMD) to address these challenges sustainably.

A Borane Sandwich Analogue of Ferrocene

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 29, 13 July 2026.
The first ferrocene analogue with two boron‐based ligands is identified through a global exploration of the FeB10H20 potential energy surface. The η5,η5‐Fe(B5H10)2 complex emerges as the global minimum, showing that metal coordination inverts borane stability and enables aromatic boron rings inaccessible in isolation.

Track‐Dependent Links Between Tropical Cyclones and Extratropical Predictability in Physical and AI Models

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 13, 16 July 2026.
Abstract Global medium‐range weather forecasts suffer occasional failures (“busts”) linked to tropical cyclones (TCs). We investigate TC influences on extratropical predictability by comparing forecasts from a physics‐based model (ECMWF‐IFS) and an AI‐hybrid model (Google‐NGCM) initialized near TC genesis.

Expansion of the Metal‐Involving Noncovalent Interaction Repertoire: The Case of Pd(II) and Pt(II) Triel Bonding

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
This study reveals that square planar Pd and Pt complexes can act as nucleophiles, forming directional triel bonds with boron‐based acceptors. Using energy decomposition analysis (EDA), quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM), and natural bond orbital (NBO), we demonstrate a transition from dispersion‐driven to dative‐covalent interactions.
