Silane modified clay for enhanced dye pollution adsorption in water

A natural clay from Bakotcha in Cameroon was modified with two silanes, tetramethoxysilane (TMOS) and [3-(2-aminoethyl)aminopropyl]trimethoxysilane (EDAS) to increase its adsorption properties.

The Missing Link in Ferrocenophane Chemistry: Isolation of a Carba[1]Ferrocenophane

The synthesis and isolation of a crystalline carba[1]ferrocenophane is reported. A single carbon atom is the smallest bridging motif yet incorporated into a ferrocenophane, resulting in a dihedral angle between the cyclopentadienyl ring planes of 36.7°, which is the highest angular deflection from ferrocene's coplanarity observed so far.

Abstract The conjunctival placodes of the avian eye form in an intriguing and conserved sequence in a circular annulus around the cornea. These 13–16 placodes develop into papillae that are essential for inducing underlying intramembranous flat bones, known as scleral ossicles, which form an important part of the ocular skeleton.
