Bioinspired Multifunctional Flexible C‐SiC Fibrous Aerogel for Superior Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Under Extreme Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This schematic presents a biomimetic C‐SiC fibrous aerogel inspired by the special structure of momordica charantia. It exhibits outstanding thermal insulation and ultrahigh specific electromagnetic shielding performance, together with excellent high‐temperature stability and mechanical flexibility, showing great promise for aerospace applications ...

Efficient Adsorption‐Based Direct Air Capture Via Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Architected triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) contactors reshape direct air capture by replacing straight‐channel diffusion limits with convection‐enhanced CO2 transport. Chaotic advection thins boundary layers and exposes fast adsorption sites, enabling 70%–75% more fast sites, 114% higher productivity, and 51.8% lower energy consumption than ...

Rare‐Earth–Sulfur Surface Modification Enables SiC Ceramics for Low‐Frequency Electromagnetic Wave Absorption in Extreme Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By altering surface chemical bonds to prolong relaxation time and shift absorption to lower frequencies, SiC/rare earth–sulfur (RE─S, RE = La, Ce, Pr, Sm, Gd, Er) materials achieve excellent low‐frequency electromagnetic wave absorption under extreme conditions, offering a new direction for designing high‐performance SiC‐based absorbers.

The recurring collocation of vreiðr and vega in Old Norse poetry

open access: yesManuscript and Text Cultures
Poetry in early Germanic vernaculars exhibits variations on a metrical form predicated on a pattern of alliterating stressed syllables linking two halves of a line (in contrast to syllabic metres in which scansion requires a fixed number of syllables ...

DDSurfer: A Weakly‐Supervised Dual‐Stream Deep Learning Framework for Cortical Surface Reconstruction From Diffusion MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DDSurfer reconstructs cortical surfaces directly from diffusion MRI without requiring T1‐weighted scans. By fusing complementary microstructural features and learning diffeomorphic deformations, it efficiently generates accurate white matter and pial surfaces, improving geometric fidelity and morphometric reliability across datasets for robust surface ...

Isolable C‐Phosphonio‐Boratavinyl Anion

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A persistent C‐phosphonio boratavinyl anion was successfully synthesized. This boron‐containing vinyl lithium, featuring a vinyl carbon with an excessively high negative charge, exhibits remarkable nucleophilic and basic character, which was demonstrated by the result of a rapid reaction with H2 at RT.

Zum Geschlecht der Personen in Rígsþula 28. 29

open access: yesCollegium Medievale, 2009
The following article adresses from a philological perspective two recent interpretations, seen from an archaeological perspective, of the Eddic stanzas Rígsþula (Rþ.) 28. 29. Both interpretations concern the sex of the protagonists.

A Global Methane Observation System to Reduce Uncertainty for Anthropogenic and Natural Sources and Sinks for Detecting and Attributing Climate Feedbacks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conceptual illustration of a Global Ecosystem Methane Observing System (GEM‐OS) integrating satellites, aircraft, atmospheric networks, and ecosystem measurements to quantify methane emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources. The multi‐scale observing framework improves source attribution, reduces uncertainty in regional methane budgets, and ...

Semiramis: An Early 11th c. Norman Text with Anglo-Danish Connotations Reviewed as a Dramatic Script

open access: yesCollegium Medievale, 2018
This article discusses a text, a satire, in the manuscript Paris, Bibl. Nat. lat. 8121 A. Conveniently this section of the codex is called Semiramis (see Dronke 1970). Based on Dronke's (1970) and Gunnell's (1995) research, the article looks further into
