Expanding Chemical Space of Nucleic Acid Nanoparticles for Tunable Antiviral‐Like Immunomodulatory Responses and Potent Adjuvant Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a nucleic acid nanoparticle (NANP) platform designed to be rrecognized by the human innate immune system in a regulated manner. By changing chemical composition while maintaining constant architectural parameters, we identify key determinants of immunorecognition enabling the rational design of NANPs with tunable immune activation profiles

Global eddy-induced variation in the intensities of tropical cyclones

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Communications
The life cycle of tropical cyclones (TCs) is characterized by phases of intensification and weakening, which depend on changes in TC intensity. Eddies, ubiquitously distributed across the global ocean, frequently interact with TCs and significantly ...

Charge‐Induced Morphing Gels for Bioinspired Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel electroactive actuation mechanism that enables the gel material to generate substantial and reversible shape‐changing while preserving topological and isochoric (volumetric) equivalence. The resultant morphing behaviors can mimic the movements of muscle‐driven organelles in nature, including cilia‐like beating and ...

Interconnected Porous Hydrogels with Tunable Anisotropy Through Aqueous Emulsion Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D bioprintable microporous bioink is developed using an aqueous two‐phase system (ATPS) composed of extracellular matrix (ECM) mimetic biopolymers. The ATPS bioink enables the fabrication of interconnected porous architectures with up to 70% porosity, supporting long‐term cell viability and 3D cell alignment, enabling a simultaneous generation of ...

Chlorophyll bloom triggered by tropical storm chedza at the southern tip of madagascar island

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Communications
A phytoplankton bloom during the passage of Tropical Storm (TS) Chedza was observed at the southern tip of Madagascar on January 28, 2015. The mechanisms of the chlorophyll bloom were researched with satellite remote sensing data, reanalysis data and ...

Modeling of the meso- and submesoscale dynamic processes in the Black sea coastal zones

open access: yesTransactions of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2017
The article presents an analysis of simulation results for the Black Sea circulation. The calculations were carried out with a horizontal resolution of 1.6~km and taking into account the real atmospheric forcing for 2006 and 2011.

Eddy-Resolving Simulation of the Atlantic Water Circulation in the Fram Strait With Focus on the Seasonal Cycle

open access: yes, 2017
Eddy driven recirculation of Atlantic Water (AW) in the Fram Strait modifies the amount of heat that reaches the Arctic Ocean, but is difficult to constrain in ocean models due to very small Rossby radius there.

Coherent Control of Nitrogen Nuclear Spins via the VB−${\rm V}_B^-$‐Center in Hexagonal Boron Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates coherent control of 15N nuclear spins coupled to VB−${\text{V}}_{\text{B}}^{-}$ centers in isotope‐enriched hexagonal boron nitride. Selective addressing via spin‐state mixing enables Rabi driving, quantum gates, and coherence times exceeding 10 μs$\umu{\rm s}$.
