Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Predicting loss in magnetic steels under arbitrary induction waveform and with minor hysteresis loops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We have studied ways of predicting power losses in soft magnetic laminations for generic time dependence of the periodic magnetic polarization J(t). We found that, whatever the frequency and the induction waveform, the loss behavior can be quantitatively

Does Long‐Term Lower Extremity Strength Training in Adults With Knee Osteoarthritis and Varus Alignment Reduce Knee Joint Loading During Gait?

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...

Experimental Verification and Analytical Approach for Electromagnetic Characteristics of a High-Speed Permanent Magnet Motor with Two Different Rotors and Winding Patterns

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
In general, high-speed machines should be designed with high efficiency electromagnetic and mechanical characteristics. It is important to analyze the electromagnetic loss for a design with high efficiency.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Eddy current loss evaluation of magnetic powder core based on electric and magnetic networks

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
This paper presents a method for calculating eddy current loss in the magnetic powder core based on electric and magnetic networks. First, an electric and magnetic model of single particle of magnetic powder core to calculate intra-particle eddy current ...

Design of LCC-P Constant Current Topology Parameters for AUV Wireless Power Transfer

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
The wireless power transmission (WPT) of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) tends to have non-negligible eddy current loss with increasing frequency or coil current due to the conductivity of seawater.

Enhancing Strength and Electrical Conductivity in Al–Zr–Sc Conductor Alloys Through Sn and Sr Microalloying and Two‐Step Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Trace additions of Sn and Sr combined with a two‐step aging treatment are shown to enhance the microstructure and performance of Al–Zr–Sc conductor alloys. Strength and electrical conductivity increase concurrently through accelerated precipitation of fine Al3(Sc, Zr) precipitates and improved dislocation resistance, offering a cost‐effective pathway ...
