Impulse excitation of eddy current probes
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2000Impulse excitation of eddy-current transducers has a number of considerable benefits in comparison with traditional harmonical excitation for the reaction impulse contains a wide range of harmonics, i.e. much more information. Impulse excitation has some special features: the reaction impulse maximum value depends only on geometrical parameters of the ...

Eddy Current and Magnetic Testing of Magnetic Material by Uniform Eddy Current Probe
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2005Uniform eddy current probe comprised of an exciting tangential coil and a detecting pancake coil simultaneously conducts eddy current testing and magnetic testing of magnetic material. The eddy current testing detects parallel flaws to the magnetic flux and the magnetic testing detects perpendicular flaws.

“Footprint” assessment of eddy current probes
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2001Eddy current coils are a fundamental part of an eddy current inspection system. With a fully automated system, excellent repeatability of defects can be obtained. However, slight variations are encountered when the same inspection is run with a different probe. This is especially true with multiple probe vendors.

Critical Eddy Current Probe Parameters
2010This paper assesses the impact of various eddy current probe parameters in terms of the probe's crack using Wyle's fully automated Eddy Current Inspection Station (ECIS). Probes were manipulated by the ECIS to simulate a certain coil orientation, rotation, or tilt then scanned and indexed across 15 × 8 × 3 mil EDM notch for ...
