Signatures of Edge States in Antiferromagnetic Van der Waals Josephson Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The combination of superconductivity and magnetic textures leads to unconventional superconducting phenomena, including new correlated and topological phases. Van der Waals (vdW) materials emerge as a versatile platform for exploring the interplay between these two competing orders.

Designable van der Waals Crystal for Artificial Neuronal Cell Mimicking

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Designable van der Waals crystal has been demonstrated for device‐scale neuronal cell mimicking. The structural similarity between ion‐channel in biological membranes and layered vdW lattices is realized with nano‐crystallization via Ar + H2S plasma sulfurization.

Magnetic‐Field Modulation of Charge Transport in Non‐Fullerene Semiconductors for Enhanced Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study demonstrates that weak magnetic fields (16–40 mT) increase the efficiency of the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in electrocatalysts based on non‐fullerene acceptor (NFA) derivatives IT‐4Cl and Y6. Electrochemical measurements reveal that the application of the magnetic field reduces the onset potential and increases the current ...

Development of a Modular Eddy Current NDT System for Conductive Materials

open access: yesResearch and Review Journal of Nondestructive Testing
This paper presents the design, modeling, and experimental validation of a non-destructive testing (NDT) system based on Eddy Current Testing (ECT) for the inspection of various conductive structures, including hollow tubes, flat plates, and complex ...

On–Off Switchable Micromotors for Use in Steerable Microvehicles

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Electrically controllable micromotors and microvehicles are developed by tuning the diffusion of the fuel. Self‐propelled micromotors using bubble propulsion show great promise for miniaturized devices with multiuse purposes such as cargo delivery and sensing. However, there is currently no method to electrically switch the micromotors on or off. Here,

Flaw Detection in Aluminum Plates Using a Rotating Uniform Eddy Current Probe with Two Pairs of Excitation Coils

open access: yesMetals, 2019
The use of eddy currents for detecting flaws in specimens is of considerable significance in the industrial sector. In this study, a new design of a rotating uniform eddy current (UEC) probe, termed the rotating butterfly probe, is presented.

Degradable Magnetic Composites from Recycled NdFeB Magnets for Soft Actuation and Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a degradable soft magnetic composite made from recycled NdFeB particles embedded in a gelatin‐based organogel. The material is processed into magnetic sensors and soft robotic components, which can later be dissolved in a green solvent to recover NdFeB magnetic particles.

The Improvement of Flaw Detection by the Configuration of Uniform Eddy Current Probes

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In this review, the principles to detect flaws with uniform eddy currents were presented based on the shape and orientation of the excitation coils and detection coils of the probe.

Surface Distributions for Eddy Current Probes

open access: yes, 1986
This paper is concerned with the computation of the thin-skin solution for eddy current distributions induced in the presence of surface breaking flaws. Earlier work [1], [2], [3], [4] dealt with cases where the distribution induced in the absence of a flaw was uniform. An unfolding technique was developed which reduced the determination of the surface
