An Analysis Of Eddy Current Testing With Sheet Current
[1993] Digests of International Magnetics Conference, 1993The eddy current problem of recognizing a crack on the edge of a rivet hole is analyzed numerically by using the current vector potential method. The vertical field is induced by the disturbance of the sheet eddy current on a thin plate. The vertical field is evaluated for a visualization technique with magnetooptics.

Physical Mechanism of Eddy Current Demagnetizing Effect for Eddy Current Brake
Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience, 2016This article researches both the mathematical relation between the braking force of eddy current brake and the speed of the moving conductor and the relationship between the average air-gap flux density and the velocity of the moving conductor respectively which result in the ambiguity of the physical mechanism of eddy current demagnetizing effect ...

An experiment which shows negligible reaction from eddy currents in iron on their inducing field is described. The observations are shown to agree with the extension of Searle's results for the magnetic field of a long current filament in iron to an aggregation of current filaments such as eddy currents.

Deep Sea Research Part II: Topical Studies in Oceanography, 2005
Abstract Measurements by a variety of sensors provided details of flow in Haida Eddies, which are anticyclonic, mesoscale features that move slowly westward through the eastern Gulf of Alaska. These measurements provided the best comparison and analysis to date of mesoscale eddy currents by various ship- and satellite-based sensors.

The study on the measuring method of the eddy current on the eddy current brake
9th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Drives, 1999It is important to analyse the characteristic of the flux density and eddy current on the inner part of the electric machine in order to raise the efficiency of the machine. In general, characteristics of the machines are investigated using the numerical analysis.

Eddies in the Kamchatka Current
Deep Sea Research, 1978Abstract Visible images from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellites show intense vortices, which we believe to be oceanic eddies, in the Kamchatka Current in winter. Infra-red images from the same satellites show eddies in the Kamchatka Current, and trains of eddies covering much of the western Bering Sea, in autumn ...

A new concept, phasography, has been developed showing excellent potential for high resolution imaging of flaws using eddy current data. The process may be thought of as an eddy current equivalent to acoustic holography. Phase multiplication of the detected coherent signal is used to simulate a test wavelength one to two orders of magnitude smaller ...

Symmetric Coupling for Eddy Current Problems
SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2002Summary: A novel symmetric finite element method-boundary element method-coupling for the \(\mathbf{E}\)-based eddy current model is derived in a rigorous fashion. To that end, the properties of potentials and boundary integral operators arising from a Stratton-Chu-type representation formula for the electric field in the nonconducting region are ...

In eddy current tomography, the conductivity profile of conductive materials is reconstructed through the inversion of eddy current data (ECT). The state of the art of imaging methods in ECT data inversion is represented by iterative methods, the drawbacks of which are their high computational cost and the risk of becoming trapped in false solutions ...
