Trait evolution during a rapid global weed invasion despite little genetic differentiation. [PDF]
Abstract Invasive species often possess a great capacity to adapt to novel environments in the form of spatial trait variation, as a result of varying selection regimes, genetic drift, or plasticity. We explored the geographic differentiation in several phenotypic traits related to plant growth, reproduction, and defense in the highly invasive ...

From Cosmopolitan to Vernacular in the Language Sciences: A Global History Perspective
Abstract Sheldon Pollock's justly famous work on cosmopolitan orders and processes of vernacularization in the worlds of Latinity and Sanskrit invites questions of a comparative and global‐historical character. I will raise such questions in the context of the Persianate cosmopolitan order, especially as exemplified by the early modern Ottoman Empire ...

Biogeographic patterns of variation in reproductive success in an invasive weed with allopatric distribution. Abstract Invasive species have the ability to rapidly adapt in the new regions where they are introduced. Classic evolutionary theory predicts that the accumulation of genetic differences over time in allopatric isolation may lead to ...

Suffragettes of the empire, daughters of the republic: women auto/biographers narrate national history (1918-1935) [PDF]
This paper explores modes of autobiographical writing by female authors in the early republican period. Women's autobiographies draw a strict distinction between the narration of the private and the public self, as they promote the narration of the ...

Nonrelativistic Arbitrary l‐States of Quarkonium through Asymptotic Iteration Method
The energy eigenvalues with any l ≠ 0 states and mass of heavy quark‐antiquark system (quarkonium) are obtained by using Asymptotic Iteration Method in the view of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics, in which the quarks are considered as spinless for easiness and are bounded by Cornell potential.

Detection Efficiency of NaI(Tl) Detector in 511–1332 keV Energy Range
As it is important to obtain accurate analytical result in an experimental research, this required quality control of the experimental system. Gamma spectrometry system can be used in a variety of different fields such as radiation and medical physics. In this paper the absolute efficiency, peak to valley ratio, and energy resolution of a 3′′ × 3′′ NaI(

The natural radioactivity existed since creation of the universe due to the long life time of some radionuclides. This natural radioactivity is caused by γ‐radiation originating from the uranium and thorium series and 40K. In this study, the gamma radiation has been measured to determine natural radioactivity of 238U, 232Th, and 40K in collected ...
