Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Control of acoustic tone formation using shape geometry modifications and jet blowing in a cavity experiencing supersonic flow

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
Acoustics tones have caused significant damage to sensitive electronic equipment and aircraft respectively. The effects become severe in cavities experiencing turbulent flows and could lead to human fatalities.

The distinguishing number and the distinguishing index of line and graphoidal graph(s)

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics, 2020
The distinguishing number (index) () of a graph is the least integer such that has a vertex labeling (edge labeling) with labels that is preserved only by a trivial automorphism.

Edge density affects demography of an exploited grassland bird

open access: yesEcosphere, 2021
Humans modify landscapes for a variety of reasons including agriculture, urbanization, and to facilitate recreation. Landscape modifications can lead to complete loss of existing cover types and/or fragmentation of remaining cover types.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Microhabitat partitioning of Apodemus flavicollis and Myodes glareolus in the sub-montane Alps: a preliminary assessment

open access: yesHystrix, the Italian Journal of Mammalogy, 2011
Interspecific competition can cause partitioning in habitat use by sympatric species. This study gives a preliminary contribution to the understanding of microhabitat partitioning of Apodemus flavicollis and Myodes ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Effects of forest road clearings on understory diversity beneath Alnus subcordata L. stands in Iran [PDF]

open access: yesMaejo International Journal of Science and Technology, 2011
This study was conducted in Darab Kola forest which is located east of Sari city. After confirming the identity of Alder trees (Alnus subcordata L., Betulaceae) at the edge of forest roads, the cross section geometry was classified into without earth ...
