Regularity of Edge Ideals Via Suspension

open access: yesAlgebraic Combinatorics
We study the Castelnuovo–Mumford regularity of powers of edge ideals for arbitrary (finite simple) graphs. It has been repeatedly conjectured that for every graph G, reg(I(G) s )≤2s+regI(G)-2 for all s≥2, which is the best possible upper bound for any s. We prove this conjecture for every s for all bipartite graphs, and for s=2 for all graphs.

Koszul binomial edge ideals

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
The study of Koszul binomial edge ideals was initiated by V. Ene, J. Herzog, and T. Hibi in 2014, who found necessary conditions for Koszulness. The binomial edge ideal $J_G$ associated to a finite simple graph G is always generated by quadrics ...

Alcohol‐induced altered glycans in human tracheal epithelial cells promote bacterial adhesion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Alcohol induces altered glycans to promote bacteria adhesion. Heavy alcohol drinking is known to increase the risk of bacterial pneumonia. However, the link between alcohol levels and risk of infection remains underexplored. Recently, we found that alcohol induced α2‐6sialo mucin O‐glycans in human tracheobronchial epithelial cells, which mediated the ...

Functional Connectivity Linked to Cognitive Recovery After Minor Stroke

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Patients with minor stroke exhibit slowed processing speed and generalized alterations in functional connectivity involving frontoparietal cortex (FPC). The pattern of connectivity evolves over time. In this study, we examine the relationship of functional connectivity patterns to cognitive performance, to determine ...

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms of Glioma Recurrence: A Study Integrating Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Glioma recurrence severely impacts patient prognosis, with current treatments showing limited efficacy. Traditional methods struggle to analyze recurrence mechanisms due to challenges in assessing tumor heterogeneity, spatial dynamics, and gene networks.

Eulerian and pancyclic zero-divisor graphs of ordered sets

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics
In this paper, we determine when the zero-divisor graph of a special class of a finite pseudocomplemented poset is Eulerian. Also, we deal with Hamiltonian, vertex pancyclic, and edge pancyclic properties of the complement of a zero-divisor graph of ...

Hip Morphology–Based Osteoarthritis Risk Prediction Models: Development and External Validation Using Individual Participant Data From the World COACH Consortium

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aims to develop hip morphology‐based radiographic hip osteoarthritis (RHOA) risk prediction models and investigates the added predictive value of hip morphology measurements and the generalizability to different populations. Methods We combined data from nine prospective cohort studies participating in the Worldwide Collaboration ...

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Modelling the performance of fluorescent solar collectors

open access: yes, 2011
The theoretical power conversion efficiency of a silicon solar cell with a fluorescent solar collector is believed to reach 90% of the maximum efficiency of an ideal silicon solar given by the Shockley-Queisser detailed balance limit, but the practical ...
