FSED-feature selective edge detection
We present a method that finds edges between certain image features, e.g. gray-levels, and disregards edges between other features. The method uses a channel representation of the features and performs normalized convolution using the channel values as certainties. This means that areas with certain features can be disregarded by the edge filter.

Heuristics for Longest Edge Selection in Simplicial Branch and Bound [PDF]
Pre-print de la comunicacion presentada al ICCSA2015Simplicial partitions are suitable to divide a bounded area in branch and bound. In the iterative re nement process, a popular strategy is to divide simplices by their longest edge, thus avoiding ...

Body and wing size, but not wing shape, vary along a large-scale latitudinal gradient in a damselfly
Large-scale latitudinal studies that include both north and south edge populations and address sex differences are needed to understand how selection has shaped trait variation.

A Mobile Edge-Based CrowdSensing Framework for Heterogeneous IoT
In this article, we consider the problem of distributed offloading in mobile crowdsensing (MCS) by the means of mobile edge computing(MEC). Deploying MEC in MCS can help address many challenges the centralized MCS solutions are facing such as delays in ...

Power Modelling for Heterogeneous Cloud-Edge Data Centers [PDF]
Existing power modelling research focuses not on the method used for developing models but rather on the model itself. This paper aims to develop a method for deploying power models on emerging processors that will be used, for example, in cloud-edge ...
