Effect of Double Annealing on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Medium Manganese Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
A double intercritical annealing strategy is proposed to tailor the multiphase microstructure and mechanical response of a medium‐Mn steel. The treatment produces an ultrafine mixture of ferrite, martensite and multiple austenite populations with graded thermal and mechanical stability, formed through austenite reversion and controlled retransformation.

Study of the thermal erosion, ejection and solidification processes of electrode materials during EDM

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2019
Due to the complexity of electrical discharge machining (EDM), there is no perfect theory to explain the mechanisms of material erosion, ejection and solidification during the machining process.

Online Pattern Matching for String Edit Distance with Moves

open access: yes, 2014
Edit distance with moves (EDM) is a string-to-string distance measure that includes substring moves in addition to ordinal editing operations to turn one string to the other.

Failure mechanism and resistance predictions for one‐way slabs in transition between shear and punching coupling linear elastic finite element analyses with critical shear crack theory‐based models

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract Linear elastic finite element analyses (LEFEAs) have become more frequent in the design and assessment of reinforced concrete slabs under concentrated loads, as they enable low‐cost evaluation of the distribution of shear forces over critical sections.

Ecoacoustics for context‐rich direct and indirect trophic interaction data and ecological network construction

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Understanding species interactions is critical for ecology and conservation, yet conventional network construction methods often lack spatiotemporal resolution and important contextual information. The growing field of ecoacoustics enables remote sensing across large spatiotemporal scales and the monitoring of otherwise cryptic communities ...

Effect of process parameters on the electrical discharge machining of aluminum metal matrix composites through a response surface methodology approach

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2016
This work presents the multiobjective optimization of machining parameters during the electrical discharge machining (EDM) of aluminum (Al)-silicon carbide (SiC) metal matrix composites (MMC). The process parameters considered were current, pulse on-time,

The Neutron Electric Dipole Moment and CP-violating Couplings in the Supersymmetric Standard Model without R-parity

open access: yes, 2000
We analyze the neutron electric dipole moment (EDM) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Model with explicit R-parity violating terms. The leading contribution to the EDM occurs at the 2-loop level and is dominated by the chromoelectric dipole moments of quarks,

Constraints on Phases of Supersymmetric Flavour Conserving Couplings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In the unconstrained MSSM, we reanalyze the constraints on the phases of supersymmetric flavour conserving couplings that follow from the electron and neutron electric dipole moments (EDM).
