CryoFluorSEM – A new approach for fluorescence and EM imaging of cryofractured plant samples

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Cryo‐scanning electron microscopy (CryoSEM) permits the preparation and detailed imaging of bulky samples while keeping them in a hydrated state. For plant biology, cryofractures give information on cell ultrastructure and tissue organisation within a much larger context that is the whole organ or organism.

Cross‐Scale Synergistic Optimization for Miniature Meta‐Liquid Hybrid Zoom Imaging

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
A physically constrained optimization framework links electrowetting liquid lenses and metasurface dispersion engineering to realize a compact visible‐band achromatic zoom imager. By co‐optimizing zoom actuation, meta‐atom manufacturability, and system aberrations, the design achieves 1.5x zoom in a 15.5 mm track and clarifies robustness against ...

A randomized crossover clinical trial of the Deseyne contact lens for presbyopia with extended depth of focus

open access: yesOptometry and Vision Science, Volume 103, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate the visual performance of a new daily wear presbyopia contact lens (Deseyne contact lens for presbyopia with extended depth of focus). Methods This was a randomized, crossover, and nondispensing clinical trial. Seventy‐eight presbyopic (45–70 years, mean = 53.9 years) habitual soft contact lens wearers were recruited with ...

Safety, efficacy, and response variability of multifocal and dual-focus soft contact lenses in myopia control: A narrative review

open access: yesTaiwan Journal of Ophthalmology
Myopia is a major global public health concern, projected to affect half the world’s population by 2050. High myopia is strongly linked to vision-threatening complications. Multifocal (MF) and dual-focus (DF) soft contact lenses are among the most widely

Inverse designed extended depth of focus meta-optics for broadband imaging in the visible

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2021
We report an inverse-designed, high numerical aperture (∼0.44), extended depth of focus (EDOF) meta-optic, which exhibits a lens-like point spread function (PSF).

Novel Insights on Ocean Internal Waves: Quantitative Surface Manifestations and Upper Ocean Layer Displacements From the Surface Water Ocean Topography Mission (SWOT) Measurements

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract The Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission provides unprecedented high‐resolution simultaneous observations of both sea surface height anomalies and sea surface roughness. Specifically, it enables more precise analysis of strong internal waves. Off the Amazon Shelf, in the Indonesian Seas, and near the Mascarene Ridge, internal wave

Circadian Rhythm Traits Matter More Than Shift Work Demands in the Sleep–Depression–Safety Behavior Pathway Among Shift‐Working Nurses

open access: yesJournal of Nursing Management, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Objectives The study examined how shift work demands and circadian rhythm traits influence the sleep–depression–safety behavior chain in shift‐working nurses. Methods A cross‐sectional study was conducted from May 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025, recruiting shift‐working nurses from a tertiary hospital.
