In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Endocrine disruptors (EDs) and hormone-dependent cancers: Correlation or causal relationship?
The selective increase in the incidence of hormone-dependent cancers (breast, prostate, testicular) in industrialized countries is associated with the increasing number of endocrine disruptors (EDs) in the environment and raises questions about the role ...

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...

Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

A Life-Threatening Complication in a Patient with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Musculocontractural Type
Ehlers Danlos syndrome musculocontractural type (mcEDS) is a rare hereditary connective tissue disorder caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in the CHST14 or dermatan sulfate (DS) epimerase genes resulting in defective DS biosynthesis.
