SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION OF COMPOSITION OF ACIDOPHILIC-WHEY ICE CREAM, ENRICHED WITH PROTEIN

open access: yesFood and Environment Safety, 2021
The work is devoted to solving the actual problem of the dairy industry - complex processing of food raw materials, expanding the range of dairy and milk-containing products of high nutritional value due to enrichment of protein, pro- and prebiotics ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Modeling of sugar beet losses during storage in heaps [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
After harvesting root crops (beets, carrots, turnips) are stored in the fields or in the processing enterprises warehouse areas. Storage takes place in open space, and not always under shelters.

The Technology Imperative in Education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The technological imperative can be an insidious master. It can become the central goal of our endeavors rather than just one way through which goals can be reached. This misdirection can have very real and lasting consequences. For this reason, the basis for action in terms of information systems development and implementation must be kept visible to ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Tunable optical parametric oscillator based on ZnGeP2 crystal for greenhouse gas remote sensing systems

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
This work is devoted to the development of a compact source of coherent radiation with frequency-energy characteristics and a spectral generation range that allows remote determination of background concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.
