Synthesis of a BINOL‐Derived Sulfide Catalyst Bearing a Diphenylmethanol Unit and Its Application in Asymmetric Bromolactonizations

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The excellent catalytic performance of a BINOL‐derived sulfide catalyst bearing a diphenylmethanol unit was demonstrated in the highly enantioselective synthesis of γ‐butyrolactones via bromolactonization. Abstract A BINOL‐derived sulfide catalyst bearing a diphenylmethanol unit was prepared.

Enantiopure Chiral Crystals: A Powerful Tool for Absolute Asymmetric Synthesis

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
This review covers absolute asymmetric syntheses, which allow the preparation of enantiomerically enriched chiral compounds from achiral precursors. By exploiting the crystallization of certain compounds as a conglomerate, enantiopure chiral crystals are spontaneously obtained.

Thienothiophene‐Based Organic Porous Polymers Combining Different Linkers and Functional Groups: Design, Synthesis, Photophysical, and Charge Transport Properties

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract Organic covalent frameworks (COFs) are essential for various applications, including solar cells, capacitors, hydrogen production, cancer therapy, bacterial treatment, chemical sensors, and light‐emitting diodes. This study presents the design and synthesis of novel conjugated triazine‐type porous polymers (P1–P6) and their conjugated ...

Plantacare 2000: A Biosurfactant for an Eco‐Friendly Palladium Catalyzed Cyanation of Aromatic Bromides

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract We introduce here Plantacare 2000 (PL‐2000), a renewable biosurfactant for sustainable palladium‐catalysed cyanation reactions in water. PL‐2000 is derived from plant‐based raw materials, is fully biodegradable, nontoxic to the aquatic environment and commercially available without the need for complex synthesis.
