The Eel Thing

open access: yes, 2008
This is one of hundreds of 60-second radio spots created by the Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS) for Kansas Public Radio (KPR). The purpose of this outreach program is to introduce the people of Kansas to the culture and current issues of East Asia ...

Continuous‐Flow Microfluidic Synthesis Enhances C2+ Selectivity for Cu2O Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microfluidic devices are used to prepare Cu2O nanoparticles under laminar flow conditions, which exhibit enhanced selectivity in the CO2‐to‐C2+ reaction due to their nanoporosity and high defect concentration. Cu2O prepared using standard solution methods displays decreased CO2‐to‐C2+ selectivity due to the absence of similar properties. Altogether, we

Étude préliminaire de recrutement fluvial de l'anguille

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 1994
La migration anadrome de l'anguille a pu être étudiée sur une petite rivière bretonne, l'Arguenon. Sur ce cours d'eau, le barrage de la Ville Hatte représente un obstacle infranchissable situé 10 km en amont du barrage estuarien.

Charge‐Transfer‐Mediated Boron Magneto‐Ionics: Towards Voltage‐Driven Multi‐Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates voltage‐driven multi‐ion transport in FeBO systems, revealing simultaneous motion of B, Fe, and O ions enabled by charge‐transfer effects. By tuning oxidation states through oxygen incorporation, we achieve a transition from electrostatic‐like to electrochemical magneto‐ionic behavior. The findings establish boron magneto‐ionics,

Migration pattern of silver eel (Anguilla anguilla, L.) in an obstructed river system. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The downstream migration of European silver eels in the River Frémur was examined to determine the potential effects of the numerous migration barriers that exist on waterways in western France.

L'argenture de l'Anguille : métamorphose, anticipation, adaptation

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 1994
L'argenture est une métamorphose qui, au cours du cycle vital des anguilles, précède la migration marine de reproduction. Une meilleure connaissance de ce phénomène serait utile non seulement d'un point de vue fondamental en biologie du développement ...

Cation Diffusion‐Mediated Displaced Reaction‐Transformation in Green Steelmaking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The removal of O lattice atoms by environmental H2 at the surface of Fe3O4 results in Fe enrichment, driving the inward diffusion of Fe cations into the bulk. Through hopping between unoccupied and initially occupied sites, cation diffusion triggers a spatially displaced reaction‐transformation and drives subsequent dynamic phase transformations and ...

The Eel-Like Robot

open access: yesVolume 7: 33rd Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, Parts A and B, 2009
The aim of this project is to design, study and build an “eel-like robot” prototype able to swim in three dimensions. The study is based on the analysis of eel swimming and results in the realization of a prototype with 12 vertebrae, a skin and a head with two fins. To reach these objectives, a multidisciplinary group of teams and laboratories has been
