Strong Metal‐Support Interaction Driven Janus Reconstruction in PtRu Alloys for Low‐Temperature Hydrogen Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Strong metal‐support interactions (SMSI) drive the spontaneous segregation of RuPt alloy into Janus nanoparticles on CeO2, spatially partitioning Pt‐rich domains for H2 dissociation and Ru‐rich domains for toluene adsorption. This Janus nanocatalysts yield a turnover frequency of 10 906 h−1 for toluene hydrogenation at 50 °C, which is 6.7 times that of

EVALUATING HABITAT AND HABITAT USE BY AMERICAN EEL (ANGUILLA ROSTATA)/KATEW IN THE BRAS D’OR LAKE /PITU’PAQ ESTUARY USING BENTHOSCAPE MAPS AND ACOUSTIC TELEMETRY

open access: yes, 2022
The American eel/Katew is a culturally significant and endangered species that has faced population declines on a global scale. The Bras d’Or Lake (BdOL)/Pitu’paq, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, offers a unique environment for eel, yet habitat information for

Stable Production of a Tethered Recombinant Eel Luteinizing Hormone Analog with High Potency in CHO DG44 Cells

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology
We produced a recombinant eel luteinizing hormone (rec-eel LH) analog with high potency in Chinese hamster ovary DG44 (CHO DG44) cells. The tethered eel LH mutant (LH-M), which had a linker comprising the equine chorionic gonadotropin (eLH/CG) β-subunit ...

Synthesis‐Dependent Grain Boundary Density Governs Low‐Temperature Lithium Diffusion in Single‐Crystal NCM Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The relationship between synthesis‐dependent crystallization behavior, internal grain‐boundary density, and intrinsic lithium diffusion kinetics in single‐crystal mid‐Ni NCM cathodes is elucidated, providing practical design insights for advanced cathode materials.

Characterization and evolution of MHC II genes in the European eel (Anguilla anguilla) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Natural populations are exposed to a diverse community of parasites. As a consequence, hosts have evolved defence strategies. In jawed vertebrates, the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is an essential part of the immune system.

Transcriptomic analysis of the inhibition mechanisms against Pseudomonas plecoglossicida by antibacterial aptamer B4

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
Pseudomonas plecoglossicida is a common bacterial pathogen in aquaculture, often leading to visceral white spot disease in large yellow croakers (Pseudosciaena crocea).

Sublattice‐Resolved Magnetoelastic Coupling and Opposing Pressure Responses in the Frustrated Magnetocaloric GdMn2O5

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In GdMn2O5, sublattice‐resolved EXAFS and diffraction analysis reveal pronounced spin‐phonon coupling and an unexpected opposing pressure response: the Mn‐driven Néel temperature slightly decreases while the Gd‐sublattice ordering temperature rises under pressures up to 0.86 GPa.

Tailoring Structure–Property Relationships in π‐Conjugated Heterocyclic Poly(arylene alkylene) Anion‐Exchange Membranes for High‐Performance Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
From passive to active ion transport: π‐conjugated heterocycles reconfigure the hydration environment and microphase morphology of p‐terphenyl‐based anion‐exchange membranes, enabling fast hydroxide transport and high‐performance water electrolysis. ABSTRACT Anion‐exchange membrane water electrolysis (AEMWE) is a promising technology for sustainable ...

Tri‐Functional Electrocatalysis for Zinc–Air Battery Coupled Water Splitting: A Catalyst‐Electrode‐Device‐System Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review establishes a catalyst–electrode–device–system framework for tri‐functional HER/OER/ORR electrocatalysis that couples water splitting with Zn–air batteries. Five catalyst families are covered: noble‐metal, metal‐based, single‐atom, heterostructure, and metal‐free systems.

Visualizing a Li‐Depleted Amorphous Cathode–Electrolyte Interphase in Sulfide Solid‐State Batteries Using In Situ Cryogenic Electron Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In situ cryogenic STEM‐EELS and electron diffraction directly visualize Li depletion and structural degradation at the NCM523/Li6PS5Cl interface during charging. The results reveal a Li‐depleted amorphous interphase that impedes Li transport, while LiNbOy coating suppresses interfacial degradation and preserves the solid‐electrolyte structure ...
