We show that the comment of K.M. Aggarwal (2018, Can. J. Phys. 96(10), doi: https://www.nrcresearchpress.com/doi/pdf/10.1139/cjp-2017-0842 ), although being only marginally relevant to the content of the original paper (2017, Can. J. Phys. 95(2), doi: https://www.nrcresearchpress.com/doi/pdf/10.1139/cjp-2016-0513 ), misinterprets our results and leads

Collision strength and effective collision strength for Br XXVII
Canadian Journal of Physics, 2017Collision strengths for all 1326 transitions among lowest 52 fine-structure levels of Br XXVII have been computed using Dirac atomic R-matrix code (DARC). Resonances in the threshold region have been completely resolved and the contributions of these resonances to allowed and forbidden transitions have been presented.

Collision strength and effective collision strength for Ba XLVIII
Canadian Journal of Physics, 2017Collision strengths for the lowest 52 fine-structure levels of Ba XLVIII have been computed using Dirac atomic R-matrix code (DARC). Resonances in the threshold region have been completely resolved and the contributions of these resonances to allowed and forbidden transitions have been presented. Effective collision strengths have also been determined

Effective collision strengths for electron impact excitation of Si VIII
Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables, 1998Abstract Effective collision strengths for electron-impact excitation of the nitrogen-like ion Si VIII are presented over the wide range of electron temperatures logT(K)=4.0–6.5. All 231 fine-structure transitions among the 22 fine-structure levels arising from the lowest 11 LS target states (2s22p3, 2s2p4, 2p5, and 2s22p23s) are considered in the ...

Effective collision strengths for electron impact excitation of Clii
Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables, 2003Abstract We extend a previous calculation of effective collision strengths for electron impact excitation of the sulfur-like ion Cl ii . The earlier work was restricted to transitions among the 3s 2 3p 4 levels whilst the present paper considers all remaining fine-structure transitions among the levels arising from the lowest 12 LS states.

Calculations are made of the resonance contribution to electron-impact excitation of Li-like {sup 57}Fe and H-like {sup 14}N ions to the upper hyperfine levels that produce mm lines of likely astrophysical interest. The resonance contribution is found to be very important for {sup 57}Fe, but rather unimportant for {sup 14}N.

Effective collision strengths for inner shell transitions of Fe XVI
Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 2007Collision strengths for transitions among the energetically lowest 134 levels of the (1s22s2) 2p63l, 2p53s2, 2p53s3p, 2p53s3d, 2p53p3d and 2p53d2 configurations of Fe XVI are computed, over an electron energy range below 570 Ryd, using the Dirac atomic R-matrix code (DARC) and the flexible atomic code (FAC).

EFFECTIVE COLLISION STRENGTHS FOR ELECTRON-IMPACT EXCITATION OF Ne IV
Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables, 1998Abstract The multichannel R -matrix method is employed to compute effective collision strengths for electron-impact excitation of triply ionized neon. Eleven target eigenstates, represented by sophisticated configuration-interaction-type wave functions, are included in the close-coupling expansion, corresponding to 22 j -resolved fine-structure ...

Scale Effects in Strength-Dominated Collisions of Rocky Asteroids
Icarus, 1999The application of laboratory collision experimental results to the larger scales of asteroid impacts is complicated by the fact that the dynamic strength of rock typically decreases as the loading duration increases. Because loading times increase with the size scale of a collision, large bodies are effectively weaker than small ones.

Effective Collision Strengths for Hydrogen and Hydrogen-Like Ions
Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables, 1994Abstract Recent calculations of electron impact excitation of hydrogen and hydrogen-like ions are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on close coupling and closely related studies (involving an optical potential, or using pseudostates). Effective (thermally averaged) collision strengths deduced from these calculations are discussed, and comments are made ...
