Computer modeling of the conductivity of composites with a chaotic structure
A scheme is proposed for calculating the effective conductivity of a two-component composite with a chaotic structure, based on a model of a three-dimensional lattice (two-dimensional in the planar case) consisting of nodes connected by conducting and ...

Predicting Two-Dimensional Semiconductors Using Conductivity Effective Mass [PDF]
In this paper we investigate the relationship between the conductivity effective mass and exfoliation energy of materials to assess whether automatic sampling of the electron band structure can predict the presence of and ease of separating chemically ...

ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Effective tunnel conductance and effective ac conductivity of randomly strained graphene
We consider a single-layer graphene with high ripples, so that the pseudo-magnetic fields due to these ripples are strong. If the magnetic length corresponding to a typical pseudo-magnetic field is smaller than the ripple size, the resulting Landau levels are local.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
