Effect of urea on degradation of terbuthylazine in soil

Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, 2005
Abstract Pesticide and nitrate contamination of soil and groundwater from agriculture is an environmental and public health concern worldwide. The herbicide terbuthylazine (CBET) has replaced atrazine in Italy and in many other countries because the use of the latter has been banned because of its adverse environmental impacts.

Inhibitory effects of vinblastine on protein degradation

Virchows Archiv B Cell Pathology Including Molecular Pathology, 1980
Vinblastine has been used in vivo as well as in vitro to study the effects of antimicrotubular agents on the mechanisms of protein degradation. The administration of vinblastine (l-2mg/100g) in vivo has little or no effect on the endocytic uptake of intravenously injected14C-leucine-labeled microsomes and denatured125I-albumin by the rat Kupffer cells.

The effect of sulphide on the anaerobic degradation of propionate

Environmental Technology Letters, 1988
Abstract The anaerobic degradation of propionate in the presence of excess sulphate was studied in an Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Bed reactor inoculated with granular sludge. A stable and efficient propionate degradation could be achieved (space load 5 kg COD m−3 day−1, VFA removal 96%).

The effect of polyamines on the enzymatic degradation of ribosomes

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1968
Abstract 1. Broken cell extracts of Escherichia coli and ribosomes isolated from such extracts were incubated in 0.1 M Tris buffer, pH 7.5–8.1, or in buffer containing 0.05 M EDTA. A rapid enzymatic degradation of rRNA occurred and the acid-soluble products of these reactions were identified as nucleoside 3′-phosphates. 2.

The effect of hexadecylphosphocholine on the degradation of mitochondrial phospholipids

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1998
Hexadecylphosphocholine (HePC) is known as antitumor agent but the mechanism has not yet been understood. In rat liver mitochondria its effect on phospholipid transformation has been studied by quantitative HPTLC and phosphorus determination. From the results it can be concluded that HePC influences the activities of phospholipase A2, phospholipase C ...
