Delving into dynamic effects

Nature Chemistry, 2020
Although the application of force to induce chemical transformations is an active area of research, detailed understanding of these mechanochemical pathways is still lacking. Now, the mechanochemical activation of [4]-ladderane has been studied and found to exhibit unique non-equilibrium dynamic effects.

Dynamicity vs. effectiveness

Proceedings of the 32nd international ACM SIGIR conference on Research and development in information retrieval, 2009
We proposed and implemented a novel clustering algorithm called LAIR2, which has constant running time average for on-the-fly Scatter/Gather browsing [4]. Our experiments showed that when running on a single processor, the LAIR2 on-line clustering algorithm was several hundred times faster than a parallel Buckshot algorithm running on multiple ...

Dynamic Superstar Effects

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019
This paper investigates the dynamic effects of high-skill individuals on peers by examining the superstar spillovers in the Chinese Super League. Exploiting timing variations in the arrivals of foreign superstars across clubs and the stars' accidental injuries during the 2013 to 2016 seasons, we find that the exposure to foreign superstars improves ...

Dynamic Bauschinger effect

Acta Materialia, 1996
Abstract An experimental investigation of the “Bauschinger effect” in materials under dynamic loading conditions is presented. In this study, a tension split Hopkinson bar with a momentum trap is used to subject a tensile specimen to a single high strain-rate tension pulse of known magnitude and duration.

Neural Dynamic Effects

2003
By the time information reaches the nervous system, it is related to past conditions of the individual and the environment. There is a similar delay between the time when a controlling signal is generated in the nervous system and when that signal can have an effect in the world.

Dynamic Effects on Fracture.

1983
Abstract : A summary and a bibliography are presented of the investigations on dynamic effects on fracture in elastic and elastic-plastic materials which were carried out at Northwestern University under the sponsorship of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research during the period July 1, 1978 - September 30, 1983.

Dynamical Lamb effect

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
An atom interacting with a quantized electromagnetic field in a cavity with time-dependent parameters is considered. Variation of the cavity parameters results in excitation of the atom, even if photons were initially absent in the cavity. We study a new mechanism of atom excitation and photon creation inside the cavity which we call the dynamical Lamb

Dynamic gyromagnetic effects

Physica, 1963
Synopsis Time-dependent linear gyromagnetic effects are treated in terms of Kubo's theory of irreversible processes. Quantitative and qualitative relations between various possible experiments are pointed out. The time constants can give information about relative relaxation rates of spin and orbital angular momentum.

Effective Dynamical Properties

Noise Control and Acoustics, 1998
Abstract We discuss effective dynamical properties of complicated vibratory subsystems. A complicated vibratory subsystem is one in which the resonance structure contains a lot of fine detail. The first part of this paper describes an analogy between the effective vibratory subsystem theory and the effective medium equations used to ...
