Hamiltonian effective field theory study of the $\mathbf{N^*(1535)}$ resonance in lattice QCD [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2015
Drawing on experimental data for baryon resonances, Hamiltonian effective field theory (HEFT) is used to predict the positions of the finite-volume energy levels to be observed in lattice QCD simulations of the lowest-lying $J^P=1/2^-$ nucleon excitation.

An effective field theory of QCD at high density [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2000
We derive a (Wilsonian) effective field theory of QCD at finite density by integrating out the states in the Dirac sea when the chemical potential $ \gg _{\rm QCD}$. The quark-gluon coupling is effectively (1+1)-dimensional and the theory contains four-quark operators which become relevant as we approach to the Fermi sea.

Meson Masses in High Density QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The low-energy effective theories for the two- and three-flavor color-superconductors arising in the high density limit of QCD are discussed. Using an effective field theory to describe quarks near the fermi surface, we compute the masses of the pseudo ...

Effective Field Theories of QCD

open access: yes, 2002
These are the proceedings of the workshop on ``Effective Field Theories of QCD'' held at the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, Bad Honnef, Germany from November 26 to 30, 2001. The workshop concentrated on Chiral Perturbation Theory in its various settings, its relations with lattice QCD and dispersion theory and the ...

LARGE COMPONENT QCD AND THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK OF HEAVY QUARK EFFECTIVE FIELD THEORY [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2006
Based on a large component QCD derived directly from full QCD by integrating over the small components of quark fields with |p| < E + mQ, an alternative quantization procedure is adopted to establish a basic theoretical framework of heavy quark effective field theory (HQEFT) in the sense of effective quantum field theory.

USES OF EFFECTIVE FIELD THEORY IN LATTICE QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Several physical problems in particle physics, nuclear physics, and astrophysics require information from non-perturbative QCD to gain a full understanding. In some cases the most reliable technique for quantitative results is to carry out large-scale numerical calculations in lattice gauge theory.

Lattice Field Theory with the Sign Problem and the Maximum Entropy Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Although numerical simulation in lattice field theory is one of the most effective tools to study non-perturbative properties of field theories, it faces serious obstacles coming from the sign problem in some theories such as finite density QCD and ...
