Firewall from Effective Field Theory
For an effective field theory in the background of an evaporating black hole with spherical symmetry, we consider non-renormalizable interactions and their relevance to physical effects.

Wilsonian effective potentials and closed string field theory [PDF]
We investigate Wilsonian effective field theory as a model for the construction of the tachyon potential and nonperturbative vacua in closed string field theory. In a number of cases we are able to find the effective potential exactly, and observe what appear to be universal features.

Dark sector effective field theory
We introduce the effective field theory of two different light dark particles interacting with the standard model (SM) light states in a single vertex, termed dark sector effective field theory (DSEFT). We focus on the new light particles with spin up to

ALPs effective field theory and collider signatures. [PDF]
We study the leading effective interactions between the Standard Model fields and a generic singlet CP-odd (pseudo-) Goldstone boson. Two possible frameworks for electroweak symmetry breaking are considered: linear and non-linear.

Holographic effective field theories [PDF]
We derive the four-dimensional low-energy effective field theory governing the moduli space of strongly coupled superconformal quiver gauge theories associated with D3-branes at Calabi-Yau conical singularities in the holographic regime of validity. We use the dual supergravity description provided by warped resolved conical geometries with mobile D3 ...

Causal effective field theories
Physical principles such as unitarity, causality, and locality can constrain the space of consistent effective field theories (EFTs) by imposing two-sided bounds on the allowed values of Wilson coefficients. In this paper, we consider the bounds that arise from the requirement of low-energy causality alone, without appealing to any assumptions about UV

Effective Field Theories [PDF]
This paper represents a pedagogical introduction to low-energy effective field theories. In some of them, heavy particles are “integrated out” (a typical example—the Heisenberg–Euler EFT); in some, heavy particles remain but some of their degrees of freedom are “integrated out” (Bloch–Nordsieck EFT).

On the development of effective field theory [PDF]
AbstractEditor’s note: One of the most important developments in theoretical particle physics at the end of the 20th century and beginning of the twenty-first century has been the development of effective field theories (EFTs). Pursuing an effective field theory approach is a methodology for constructing theories, where a set of core principles is ...

Small-x factorization from effective field theory
We derive a factorization theorem that allows for resummation of small-x logarithms by exploiting Glauber operators in the soft collinear effective field theory.
