High-resolution spectroscopic atlas of M subdwarfs. Effective temperature and metallicity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Context. M subdwarfs are metal poor and cool stars. They are important probes of the old galactic populations. However, they remain elusive due to their low luminosity. Observational and modeling efforts are required to fully understand their physics and

Structural dynamics of the plant hormone receptor ETR1 in a native‐like membrane environment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The present study unveils the structural and signaling dynamics of ETR1, a key plant ethylene receptor. Using an optimized nanodisc system and solution NMR, we captured full‐length ETR1 in a native‐like membrane environment. Our findings reveal dynamic domain uncoupling and Cu(I)‐induced rigidification, providing the first evidence of metal‐triggered ...

Experimental study on effect of pore pressure and temperature on nitrogen flow in coal rock

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2021
In order to investigate the influence of pore pressure and temperature on the permeability of coal rocks, based on the constant effective stress, the experiment of coal rock permeability at different pore pressures and temperatures are carried out with ...

THE BINARITY OF MILKY WAY F,G,K STARS AS A FUNCTION OF EFFECTIVE TEMPERATURE AND METALLICITY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We estimate the fraction of F,G,K stars with close binary companions by analysing multi-epoch stellar spectra from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and LAMOST for radial velocity variations.

Mechanistic basis for inhibition of the extended‐spectrum β‐lactamase GES‐1 by enmetazobactam and tazobactam

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is of huge importance, resulting in over 1 million deaths each year. Here, we describe how a new drug, enmetazobactam, designed to help fight resistant bacterial diseases, inhibits a key enzyme (GES‐1) responsible for AMR. Our data show it is a more potent inhibitor than the related tazobactam, with high‐level computation

Novel and unscrutinized immune entities of the zebrafish gut

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Understudied cells of the zebrafish immune system include bona fide immune cells and epithelial (‐derived) cells with immune functions. Research focusing on zebrafish cells which demonstrate similarities to mammalian immune cell counterparts may help us understand the pathologies in which they are implicated. Currently available and advanced tools make

Evaluation of vegetative phenological stages in a spruce monoculture depending on parameters of the environment

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2011
Vegetative phenological stages were evaluated in a spruce monoculture of the third age class in the region of the Drahanská vrchovina Upland. Methods of the ČHMÚ (Czech Hydro-Meteorological Office) were used. Temperature requirements of Norway spruce for

The IACOB project: II. On the scatter of O-dwarf spectral type -- effective temperature calibrations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We are now in an era of large spectroscopic surveys of OB-type stars. Quantitative spectroscopic analysis of these modern datasets is enabling us to review the physical properties of blue massive stars with robust samples, not only revisiting mean ...

Imeglimin attenuates liver fibrosis by inhibiting vesicular ATP release from hepatic stellate cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Imeglimin, at clinically relevant concentrations, inhibits vesicular ATP accumulation and release from hepatic stellate cells, thereby attenuating purinergic signaling and reducing fibrogenic activation. This mechanism reveals a newly identified antifibrotic action of imeglimin beyond glycemic control.

Effective fuel temperature of wwer-1000

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The main temperature characteristics of a pressurized water reactor are distinguished, supporting its safety and reliable operation. The special role of the uranium fuel effective temperature is emphasized and the accuracy of the analytical determination
