Generalized Einstein’s and Brinkman’s solutions for the effective viscosity of nanofluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we derive the closed form analytical solutions for the effective viscosity of the suspensions of solid spheres that take into account the size effects.

Evaluation of time-dependent rheological property in the coagulation of skimmed milk by ultrasonic velocity profiler

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
We propose a method to evaluate time-dependent rheological properties, shear stress, effective viscosity and shear rate, of coagulating curd of the skimmed milk as an analog of cheese products.

Suppressed effective viscosity in the bulk intergalactic plasma [PDF]

open access: yesNature Astronomy, 2019
Transport properties, such as viscosity and thermal conduction, of the hot intergalactic plasma in clusters of galaxies are largely unknown. Whereas for laboratory plasmas these characteristics are derived from the gas density and temperature1, such ...

Tidal flows with convection: frequency-dependence of the effective viscosity and evidence for anti-dissipation [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2019
Tidal interactions are important in driving spin and orbital evolution in planetary and stellar binary systems, but the fluid dynamical mechanisms responsible remain incompletely understood.

Alpha-Viscosity Effects in Slender Tori [PDF]

open access: yesPublications of the Astronomical Society of Japan, 2012
We explore effects of the Shakura–Sunyaev $ \alpha$-viscosity on the dynamics and oscillations of slender tori. We start with a slow secular evolution of the torus. We show that the angular-momentum profile approaches the Keplerian one on a timescale longer than a dynamical one by a factor on the order of 1$ /\alpha$ .

NFLUENCE OF FAT PHASE ONTECHNOLOGICALLY IMPORTANT INDICATORS OF ICE CREAM PLOMBIR WITHOUT EMULSIFIERS

open access: yesПищевые системы, 2018
The determination of the technological functionality of milk fat particles in terms of their effect on the nucleation in ice cream plombir with a mass fraction of milk fat of at least 15% was the aim of the study. this work was carried out to justify the

An Investigation Into the Influence of Viscosity on Gear Churning Losses by Considering the Effective Immersion Depth

open access: yesTribology Transactions, 2023
We present an experimental investigation into the influence of oil viscosity on gear churning losses in splash-lubricated transmission systems. The inertia rundown method was used to perform tests on a single gear within a cylindrical housing with ...

DEVELOPMENT OF THE BIOTECHNOLOGY OF STREPTOCOCCUS THERMOPHILUS BACTERIA AS PRODUCERS OF EXOPOLYSACCHARIDESDEVELOPMENT OF THE BIOTECHNOLOGY OF STREPTOCOCCUS THERMOPHILUS BACTERIA AS PRODUCERS OF EXOPOLYSACCHARIDES

open access: yesHarčova Nauka ì Tehnologìâ, 2020
On carrying out a screening, phage-resistant strains of Streptococcus thermophilus have been selected.  As producers of exopolysaccharides, they can be used to form the texture of fermented milk and improve the rheological properties of fermented milk ...

Effect of Viscosity on Bacterial Motility [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1974
The behavior of a number of motile flagellated bacteria toward viscosity characteristics of their fluid environments was observed. All showed an increase in velocity (micrometers per second) in more viscous solutions. Velocity reached a maximum at a characteristic value, however, and thereafter decreased with higher viscosities ...
