Optimization criteria, bounds, and efficiencies of heat engines
Physical Review E, 2010The efficiency of four different and representative models of heat engines under maximum conditions for a figure of merit representing a compromise between useful energy and lost energy (the Ω criterion) is investigated and compared with previous results for the same models where the efficiency is considered at maximum power conditions.

SIEM selection criteria for an efficient contextual security
2017 International Symposium on Networks, Computers and Communications (ISNCC), 2017The IT environment is on a constant evolution and it's getting more complex. Therefore, organizations started to invest on integrating SOCs (Security Operation Center) to improve its security. Several studies have been carried out on this area of SOC analysis, its elaboration and the balance between the triad PPT (Person, Process and Technology).

A Comparison of Criteria to Design Efficient Choice Experiments
Journal of Marketing Research, 2006To date, no attempt has been made to design efficient choice experiments by means of the G- and V-optimality criteria. These criteria are known to make precise response predictions, which is exactly what choice experiments aim to do. In this article, the authors elaborate on the G- and V-optimality criteria for the multinomial logit model and compare ...

Efficiency criteria for nudges and norms
Public Choice, 2019This article outlines benefit-cost criteria for nudges and behavioral norms for a wide range of policy situations. The principal benefits from well-designed policies usually derive from promoting efficient behaviors, but counterpart costs may also be generated by discouraging efficient behaviors.

Efficiency Evaluation Criteria for Series Manufacturing Processes
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1984Abstract The design problem of series production systems refers to the choice of an efficiency-optimal set of values for station parameters (production rate, life and maintenance period) and intermediate storage capacities. Useful criteria for system design can only be obtained if based on a dynamic model with a reduced number of states (Buzacottand ...

Design Criteria for High-Efficiency SPM Synchronous Motors
IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2003This paper deals with the design criteria for a high-efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motor. The goal is not pursued by a trivial reduction of the electric and magnetic loadings (which decrease motor losses) but optimizing a set of motor design variables, without increasing the overall dimensions, which are typically imposed as design ...

Rectification column: criteria of efficiency
Technical Transactions. Mechanics = Czasopismo Techniczne. Mechanika, 2016In the paper analysis of the factors influencing the efficiency of the rectification process is provided. The authors show that existing dependences, equivalent to HETP, cannot be used for calculating rectification plate columns and columns with vortex nozzles, in which the coefficients of mass transfer are substantially dependent on the irrigation ...

Multi-Criteria Efficiency Profiling
1996Consider a set of decision-making units (DMUs, e.g. branches, departments, firms) which employ a variety of resources to produce multiple outputs. The units being compared may be in the public sector e.g. health or education, so that the outputs and inputs need not be measured in monetary terms.
