Evaluation of thermophotovoltaic conversion efficiency

Journal of Applied Physics, 1982
The theory and the experiments on thermophotovoltaic (TPV) conversion are reported in this paper. The various parameters characterizing TPV systems are studied in order to provide design information for actual converters. Both the experimental results and theoretical calculations of TPV conversion efficiency are presented for comparison.

Efficient sort-based skyline evaluation

ACM Transactions on Database Systems, 2008
Skyline queries compute the set of Pareto-optimal tuples in a relation, that is, those tuples that are not dominated by any other tuple in the same relation. Although several algorithms have been proposed for efficiently evaluating skyline queries, they either necessitate the relation to have been indexed or have to

Efficient regular expression evaluation

Proceedings of the 4th ACM/IEEE Symposium on Architectures for Networking and Communications Systems, 2008
Several algorithms and techniques have been proposed recently to accelerate regular expression matching and enable deep packet inspection at line rate. This work aims to provide a comprehensive practical evaluation of existing techniques, extending them and analyzing their compatibility.

Efficiency Evaluation Games

1992
In providing a beginning for developing alternate approaches to the methodology of Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA),Banker[1]accorded the Chames, Cooper, and Rhodes (CCR) ratio form of DEA[6]a game-theoretic interpretation by relating it to a series of two-person zero-sum games with payoff matrices E whose elements are given by $$e_{ij} = \frac ...

Evaluation Irrigation Efficiency

Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1967
Studies in water resources planning and utilization have emphasized the need to critically evaluate the efficiency of irrigation projects. Evaluation of irrigation efficiency requires the delineation of necessary and beneficial water uses, uniform evaluation procedures, and acceptable standards for comparative purposes. Necessary and beneficial uses of

Work Efficiency Evaluation Model

Proceedings of the International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (IAARC), 2010
As for a backhoe, generally, the work efficiency is utilized as one of terms to calculate the work capacity. As the case stands, evaluation metrics such as performance of work tasks, operational skill levels and energy-saving effects are usually and frequently represented by qualitatively volumetric indices of capacity.

Auditors' Efficiency Motivated Evaluation

Advances in Accounting, 2009
Abstract This paper proposes an evaluation approach – “Efficiency Motivated Evaluation” (EME hereafter) – that auditors use in response to increased efficiency demands. EME is defined as discounting (emphasizing) negative (positive) audit evidence and making favorable assessments as the demands for efficiency increase.

Evaluation of Innovation Efficiency

Economics, 2016
The present article provides an overview of modern sources of scientific literature on the evaluation of the effectiveness of innovative projects. Currently, there is no generally accepted methodology for evaluating innovation efficiency. Since innovation and investment activities are closely related, many authors use the UNIDO ...

Efficient Model Evaluation

2014
All algorithms for the evaluation and decoding of HMMs or n-gram models presented so far represent the basic methods only for handling these models. In order to achieve the efficiency necessary in practical applications, these methods have to be extended and modified such that as many “unnecessary” computations as possible are avoided.

Towards efficient partial evaluation

Proceedings of the 1993 ACM SIGPLAN symposium on Partial evaluation and semantics-based program manipulation - PEPM '93, 1993
In general, a partial evaluator needs to keep track of the tasks that have already been completed or initiated, so that it can recognize when to stop unfolding. In the MIX-style polyvariant specialization algorithm, this is accomplished by a global log.
