Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Efficient Solutions to Multidimensional Claims Problem
In this paper, we study the multidimensional claims problem and introduce the eating algorithm to this problem. It is shown that a solution is efficient if and only if it is the outcome of the eating algorithm with a profile of specific eating functions.

The optimality of being efficient : designing auctions [PDF]
A cornerstone of the auction literature is the theory of"optimal auctions."'This theory uses mechanism design techniques to characterize, in general settings, the auction that maximizes the seller's expected revenues.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Efficient solution of linear diophantine equations
The paper gives a new method for finding complete information about all nonnegative solutions of a linear homogeneous or inhomogeneous diophantine equation \[ \sum_{i=1}^{m}a_ix_i- \sum_{j=1}^{n}b_jy_j=c, \] where the \(a_i's\) and \(b_j's\) are positive integers and \(c\) is \(0\) resp. a positive integer.

Influence of reaction conditions on the properties of solution-processed Cu2ZnSnS4 nanocrystals [PDF]
Cu2ZnSnS4 nanocrystals were fabricated by hot injection of sulphur into a solution of metallic precursors. By careful control of the reaction conditions it was possible to control the elemental composition of the nanocrystals such that they are suitable ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
