Designing of Self‐Dispersing Soft Dendritic Microcleaners for Microplastics Capture and Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The capture and recovery of microplastics from open aquatic systems is a complex problem, which necessitates nontrivial solutions. The principles of a comprehensive multistage process based on sustainably sourced microcleaners with hierarchical morphology are demonstrated.

Composition of Fungal Flora in Raw Refinery Effluent, Effluent Retention Pond and a Treated Effluent Recipient River

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management, 2015
Investigations were carried out to determine the composition of fungal flora in the studied sites. Samples of the raw effluent were collected along the flow channel and the retention pond. Water samples were also collected at the discharge point and up and down stream of the river from the discharge point.

Investigating the Structure–Function Relationships of Fluorinated Interfaces for PFAS Capture and Electrochemically‐Mediated Release

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the use of fluorinated copolymers with varying fluorophilic side chain lengths to enhance PFAS affinity. The integration of electrochemical techniques demonstrates enhanced adsorbent regeneration, with molecular dynamics simulations providing insight into the molecular‐level interactions involved.

Effluent limits, ambient quality, and monitoring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Effluent limits are frequently based on a uniform emission standard, which applies to all polluting facilities within in a single industry. However, the implementation of many environmental protection laws does not lead to uniform effluent limits due ...
