Hemodynamics of low‐pressure cardiac tamponade: An illustrative case report
Abstract A 55‐year‐old male with acute pericarditis presented with low‐pressure cardiac tamponade (LPCT) unresponsive to volume infusion. Subsequent pericardiocentesis resulted in hemodynamic improvement and unmasking of pericardial constriction. This case provides illustrative hemodynamic tracings of LPCT.

Presentation pattern and management of effusive-constrictive pericarditis in Ibadan [PDF]
Effusive-constrictive pericarditis is a syndrome in which constriction by the visceral pericardium occurs in the presence of a dense effusion in a free pericardial space. Treatment of this disease is problematic because pericardiocentesis does not relieve the impaired filling of the heart and surgical removal of the visceral pericardium is challenging.
