Human disturbances affect the topology of food webs

open access: yesEcology Letters, Volume 25, Issue 11, Page 2476-2488, November 2022., 2022
We predict that food webs with scale‐free degree distributions should be favourably selected by random disturbances (in regions less disturbed by human pressure) while food webs with random degree distributions would be associated with targeted disturbances (in areas with more human pressure).

Spatial dependence in the technical efficiency of local banks

open access: yesPapers in Regional Science, Volume 101, Issue 3, Page 685-716, June 2022., 2022
Abstract Cooperative banks primarily compete with one another because they target niche markets that large banks typically ignore. Defining practical and robust study designs for interventions targeted at terrestrial mammalian predators

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 36, Issue 2, April 2022., 2022
Abstract Conflicts between humans and mammalian predators are globally widespread and increasing, creating a long‐lasting challenge for conservation and local livelihoods. Protection interventions, which are essential to conflict mitigation, should be based on solid evidence of effectiveness produced by robust study designs.
