Acquired Resistance of Lung Adenocarcinomas to Gefitinib or Erlotinib Is Associated with a Second Mutation in the EGFR Kinase Domain

open access: yesPLoS Medicine, 2005
Background Lung adenocarcinomas from patients who respond to the tyrosine kinase inhibitors gefitinib (Iressa) or erlotinib (Tarceva) usually harbor somatic gain-of-function mutations in exons encoding the kinase domain of the epidermal growth factor ...

Rare epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations in non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesSeminars in Cancer Biology, 2020
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations are the second most common oncogenic driver event in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Classical activating mutations (exon 19 deletions and the L858R point mutation) comprise the vast majority of EGFR ...

Single-cell transcriptome analysis revealed a suppressive tumor immune microenvironment in EGFR mutant lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, 2022
Backgrounds Immunotherapy is less effective in patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutant non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Lower programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression and tumor mutation burden (TMB) are reported to be the

pSTAT3 transactivates EGFR in maintaining EGFR protein homeostasis and EGFR-TKI resistance

open access: yesActa Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica
EGFR protein trafficking is critical for regulating multiple biological processes, including cell growth and survival. However, how EGFR protein homeostasis is maintained remains unclear. In this study, we show that a reduction in plasma membrane-associated EGFR triggers EGFR transcription by promoting pSTAT3 nuclear localization.

THE IMPORTANCE OF DETERMINING THE UROMODULIN SERUM CONCENTRATION IN DIABETES MELLITUS TYPE 2 PATIENTS

open access: yesSanamed, 2021
Introduction: In the kidney, cells in the thick ascending limb of the loop of the Henle synthesized uromodulin (UMOD). This study aims to present the evaluation of the uromodulin serum concentration in diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2DM) patients in the ...

Design, synthesis and in vitro biological evaluation of quinazolinone derivatives as EGFR inhibitors for antitumor treatment

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2020
In this paper, a series of novel 3-methyl-quinazolinone derivatives was designed, synthesised and evaluated for antitumor activity in vitro on wild type epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase (EGFRwt-TK) and three human cancer cell lines ...
