Stochastic modeling the vertical deflection errors of EGM2008 for INS/GNSS integration

2015 34th Chinese Control Conference (CCC), 2015
The vertical deflections (VD) error of earth gravity model, which is one of primary error sources in high-precision inertial navigation system, is usually modeled as stochastic processes. In this paper, the VD error of the Earth Gravity Model 2008 (EGM2008) are modeled as 2ed order Gauss-Markov processes. The statistical characteristics of VD error are

On the determination of a new combined EGM2008 based quasi-geoid model for Hungary

Acta Geodaetica et Geophysica Hungarica, 2011
A new quasi-geoid model for Hungary was determined by combining gravity data, GPS/levelling and vertical deflections. Reduction of the measurements was performed by using Earth Gravitational Model 2008 (EGM2008) and Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) elevation data sets.

The Progress of the Geoid Model for South America Under GRACE and EGM2008

2011
The efforts to compute the geoid model for South America, limited by 15° N and 57° S in latitude and 30° W and 95° W in longitude, are presented. The terrestrial gravity data for the continent have been updated with the most recent measurements in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Paraguay.

Evaluation of the Performance of the New EGM2008 Global Geopotential Model over Poland

2009
The performance of the new EGM2008 global geopotential model, over Poland, has been evaluated. The tide-free release of the EGM2008 model was also used for the assessment of quality of three precise quasigeoid models developed in the last decade in Poland.

Evaluation of EGM2008 by Comparison with Global and Local Gravity Solutions from CHAMP

2010
New gravity field models incorporate GRACE data for the long wavelengths since it is one of the best available data sources. However, considering e.g. the degree difference RMS between EGM2008 and GGM02s, also discrepancies between these models occur which cannot solely be explained by numerical inaccuracies.

Evaluation of EGM2008 Within Geopotential Space from GPS, Tide Gauges and Altimetry

2011
The new global Earth gravitational model EGM2008 has been evaluated within geopotential space by comparison with its predecessor EGM96 and the GRACE combination model EIGEN-GL04C. The methodology comprises establishing geodetic coordinates of mean sea level (MSL) from GPS observations, tide gauge (TG) time series and levelling. The gravity potential at

Basin depth distribution in western Anatolia using EGM2008 gravity model

2022
EGM2008 gravity model is used to generate a map of basin depth distribution in western Anatolia. Topographic and the crustal scale gravity effects were removed by applying appropriate 2-D filters. The resulting residual gravity map shows the basin depth distribution in western Anatolia.

Testing EGM2008 on Leveling Data from Scandinavia, Adjacent Baltic Areas, and Greenland

2010
We tested EGM2008 on GPS/leveling data from Scandinavia and adjacent areas. EGM2008 performs at the same level as the best regional geoid model, NKG2004. However, the direct evaluation of EGM2008 is difficult in Greenland because no leveling data are available. Nevertheless, we show on 78 GPS-MSS data that EGM2008 also performs at the same level as the

Analyse des globalen Geopotentialmodells EGM2008 und des Europäischen Geoids EGG08

2014
There are several gravitational models for geodetic, geophysical or oceanographic applications and investigations. Usually these are spherical harmonic models of the Earth-s gravitational potential, which are developed by a combination of satellite tracking data, satellite altimeter data and gridded mean free-air anomalies. More detailed regional geoid
