Evaluation of EGM2008 by means of GPS Levelling Uganda
The global gravity model EGM2008 is evaluated in various regions of Uganda to assess if it is good enough for geodetic applications. The evaluation method involves comparison of geoid heights computed from the model with those computed at irregularly distributed GPS Levelling stations.

The development and evaluation of the Earth Gravitational Model 2008 (EGM2008) [PDF]
EGM2008 is a spherical harmonic model of the Earth's gravitational potential, developed by a least squares combination of the ITG‐GRACE03S gravitational model and its associated error covariance matrix, with the gravitational information obtained from a global set of area‐mean free‐air gravity anomalies defined on a 5 arc‐minute equiangular grid.

Earth's gravity model (EGM) helps people better determine the figure of Earth, which is generally represented by a global geoid. For a considerable amount of practical applications, people use quasi-geoid to approximate the geoid, thus the quasi-geoid is

Vertical Deflections and Gravity Disturbances Derived from HY-2A Data
The first Chinese altimetry satellite, Haiyang-2A (HY-2A), which was launched in 2011, has provided a large amount of sea surface heights which can be used to derive marine gravity field.

ANALYSIS OF THE GRAVITY MODELS IMPACT ON LEO SATELLITE ORBIT PREDICTION [PDF]
Non-spherical gravity plays a crucial role in the LEO satellite orbit determination and prediction. In recent years, several new gravity models have been proposed with more comprehensive ground and space-borne data.

This study validates the ultra-high-degree gravity field models in terms of the internal error estimate and the external precision. Internal error estimate is evaluated by geoid error degree variance and cumulative geoid height errors.

Conservative evaluation of the uncertainty in the LAGEOS-LAGEOS II Lense-Thirring test
We deal with the test of the general relativistic gravitomagnetic Lense-Thirring effect currently ongoing in the Earth's gravitational field with the combined nodes \Omega of the laser-ranged geodetic satellites LAGEOS and LAGEOS II.

In this paper we present the concepts and realization of the shallow-layer Shen geoid determination method, which is quite different from the classical geoid modeling methods (Stokes¡¦ method, Molodenskii¡¦s method, etc.), for determining the global or ...
