Egonet: A Genetic Algorithm Model For The Optimisation Of Telephone Networks

International Journal of Computer Mathematics, 2003
The aim of this paper is to study the use of genetic algorithms for the optimisation of telephone networks layout design. The genetic algorithms are used to design the network in a geographical sense with minimum costs depending on a set of real-world rules (constraints). A genetic algorithm tool (EGONET) is described.

OCDAD: An Overlapping Community Detecting Algorithm using Attention Degree in Directed Ex-EgoNet

2019 IEEE Intl Conf on Dependable, Autonomic and Secure Computing, Intl Conf on Pervasive Intelligence and Computing, Intl Conf on Cloud and Big Data Computing, Intl Conf on Cyber Science and Technology Congress (DASC/PiCom/CBDCom/CyberSciTech), 2019
Detecting community structure is of great theoretic significance and application value to extracting latent information in complex networks. Various algorithms of community detecting in directed networks have been proposed from a macroscopic scale. However, only a few of them are designed for handling directed networks microscopically.

Overlapping Community Detection in Bipartite Networks using a Micro-bipartite Network Model: Bi-EgoNet

Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2019
A bipartite network is a special kind of complex network that consists of two different types of nodes with edges existing only between the different node types. There are numerous real-world examples of bipartite networks, such as scientific collaboration networks and film-actor networks, among many others.

A Preliminary Look at Accuracy in Egonets

2014
Abstract I assess the extent that the egonet method of collecting data permits accurate inferences to the true structural features of the network. This inference problem has three critical components: local-global inference error, ego distortion, and feature inference error.

Internet e Egonet: la demagogia al potere?

2023

Networking in a Field of Introverts: The Egonets, Networking Practices, and Networking Technologies of Technical Communication Entrepreneurs

IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, 2016
Research problem: Although labor statistics document a steady rise in contract, contingent, and entrepreneurial labor, knowledge about the professional communication practices that build and sustain independent careers in the field of technical communication (TC) largely emerges from broad survey analysis, cultural/social critiques, or individual ...

Using Krackhardt Data Over Time to Assess Egonet Dynamics and Accuracy

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019
There has been some debate over the extent to which egonets support accurate inferences regarding the actual structural features of social networks. The reliance of the egonet method on ego’s accurate perception of the local network naturally motivates the examination of differences between what ego perceives and what actually exists. Three decades ago,
