Lightweight Ultra‐Strength in AlFeNiTiV Complex Concentrated Alloys via Cu Microalloying‐Driven Lattice Coherency Tuning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 6, 30 January 2026.
This study develops a lightweight AlFeNiTiV complex concentrated alloy (density: 6.83 g cm−3) through Cu microalloying and lattice coherency tuning. The alloy exhibits ultrahigh compressive strength exceeding 3.3 GPa, 11.8% strain, and retains a yield strength of 1311.6 MPa at 600 °C, demonstrating a phase interface strategy for high‐temperature ...

A novel equiaxed eutectic high-entropy alloy with excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperatures

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters, 2020
A Co25.1Cr18.8Fe23.3Ni22.6Ta8.5Al1.7 (at. %) eutectic high-entropy alloy (EHEA) consisting of face-centered-cubic (FCC) and C14 Laves phases was produced by powder metallurgy. The EHEA shows an equiaxed morphology that is different from eutectic lamellar

Decoding Cryogenic Deformation Mechanisms in High‐Entropy Alloys: A Comprehensive Review of Microstructural Evolution, Strengthening‐Toughening Synergy, and Serrated Flow Dynamics

open access: yescMat, Volume 2, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT High‐entropy alloys (HEAs) exhibit exceptional mechanical properties under cryogenic conditions, defying the conventional strength‐ductility trade‐off observed in traditional metal. This review systematically consolidates recent advancements in understanding the deformation mechanisms, microstructural dynamics, and anomalous mechanical ...

Achieving synergistic strength-ductility enhancement in a hierarchical hetero-lamellar AlCoCrFeNi2.1 eutectic high-entropy alloy via facile hot-rolling strategy

open access: yesMaterials & Design
Eutectic high-entropy alloys (EHEAs) have attracted considerable interest due to their superior multifunctional performance. However, the inherent tendency of stress concentration at irregular phase boundaries frequently leads to premature fracture. This

Re-shaping the EHEA After the Demise of Neoliberalism: A UK-Informed Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Since around the turn of the millennium, the European university has been re-furbished in the neoliberal style - the consequences of which to the lives of academics and students have been documented and analysed ad nauseam. But now, as the second decade of the twenty-first century draws to a close, subtle shifts are discernible and faint rumblings ...

The role of work‐integrated learning in the European Higher Education Area: A systematic review

open access: yesReview of Education, Volume 13, Issue 3, December 2025.
Abstract This study investigates the role of Work‐Integrated Learning (WIL) in addressing the evolving demands of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) labour market. Amidst global economic shifts, technological advancements, and a persistent skills gap, WIL and integrative learning methods such as Work‐Based Learning (WBL) emerge as pivotal ...
