Mapping Large‐Scale Deep Soil Moisture Variations Using Ambient Seismic Noise

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 20, 28 October 2025.
Abstract Soil moisture is an essential ecosystem resource and a major control of the Earth's hydrological cycle and energy balance, closely interacting with the climate system. However, investigating deep soil moisture dynamics at large scales presents significant challenges due to the sparse distribution and limited spatial representativeness of in ...

Isolation of a Novel Plant Growth‐Promoting Dyella sp. From a Danish Natural Soil

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 17, Issue 5, October 2025.
Natural soils harbour untapped beneficial microbes. We screened for plant growth‐promoting bacteria isolated from Arabidopsis grown in an alder swamp soil collected in Danish nature and identified a new bacterial species, Dyella sp. A4, which modulates root architecture and enhances biomass of Arabidopsis and tomato.

Best of two worlds: Secure cloud federations meet eIDAS [PDF]

open access: yes2017 12th International Conference for Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST), 2017
The federation of information technology (IT) systems is a common approach to bundle capabilities and get the best results for all participants. Cloud computing and electronic identity (eID) are only two out of many domains, for which federated solutions have been a topic of scientific and corporate interest during the past years.

Using Environmental DNA Sampling for Simultaneous Detection of Hosts and Their Pathogens: A Case Study With the Critically Endangered Frog Genus Atelopus

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 663-674, October 2025.
Environmental DNA is a powerful tool for simultaneous detection of rare species and their pathogens. We confirmed the presence of Atelopus at multiple sampling locations and found that the concentration of the amphibian pathogen Bd in eDNA samples was correlated with stream characteristics and the pathogen load of the amphibian community.

Influence of Fluids and Geological Setting on Source Parameters of the 2010–2014 Pollino (Italy) Seismic Swarm

open access: yesTerra Nova, Volume 37, Issue 5, Page 324-341, October 2025.
ABSTRACT We analyse variations in Brune stress drop (Δσ), apparent stress (τa) and Savage–Wood radiation efficiency (ηsw = τa/Δσ) during the 2010–2014 Pollino seismic swarm (Southern Apennines, Italy). This prolonged sequence included multiple swarms, with a Mw 5.2 event in October 2012, preceded by a Mw 4.3 event in May 2012, followed by aseismic slip.
