Torsion and ground state maxima: close but not the same
Could the location of the maximum point for a positive solution of a semilinear Poisson equation on a convex domain be independent of the form of the nonlinearity? Cima and Derrick found certain evidence for this surprising conjecture.

Neural Geometry Processing via Spherical Neural Surfaces
Abstract Neural surfaces (e.g., neural map encoding, deep implicit, and neural radiance fields) have recently gained popularity because of their generic structure (e.g., multi‐layer perceptron) and easy integration with modern learning‐based setups. Traditionally, we have a rich toolbox of geometry processing algorithms designed for polygonal meshes to

S‐ACORD: Spectral Analysis of COral Reef Deformation
Abstract We propose an efficient pipeline to register, detect, and analyze changes in 3D models of coral reefs captured over time. Corals have complex structures with intricate geometric features at multiple scales. 3D reconstructions of corals (e.g., using Photogrammetry) are represented by dense triangle meshes with millions of vertices.

Clustering Longitudinal Data: A Review of Methods and Software Packages
Summary Clustering of longitudinal data is becoming increasingly popular in many fields such as social sciences, business, environmental science, medicine and healthcare. However, it is often challenging due to the complex nature of the data, such as dependencies between observations collected over time, missingness, sparsity and non‐linearity, making ...

Regularity and decay of eigenfunctions
For p > l let Tp be a closed linear operator in Lp(IR") with domain D(Tp). By D(T/) we denote the domain of the power T/, j > 1, and by D(T~ ~ the intersection (-] D(T/). Every eigenfunction of the operator Tp is in D(T~). MojsN reover, if p=2, if T 2 is a selfadjoint operator and E(.) its spectral familiy, then for ueL2(1R"),and any bounded Borel ...

Change Point Analysis for Functional Data Using Empirical Characteristic Functionals
ABSTRACT We develop a new method to detect change points in the distribution of functional data based on integrated CUSUM processes of empirical characteristic functionals. Asymptotic results are presented under conditions allowing for low‐order moments and serial dependence in the data establishing the limiting null‐distribution of the proposed test ...

Steklov problem with an indefinite weight for the p-Laplacian
Let $Omegasubsetmathbb{R}^{N}$, with $Ngeq2$, be a Lipschitz domain and let 1 lees than p less than $infty$. We consider the eigenvalue problem $Delta_{p}u=0$ in $Omega$ and $| abla u|^{p-2}frac{partial u}{partial u}=lambda m|u|^{p-2}u$ on $partialOmega$
