Enhancing Sustainability Label Effectiveness Through Logo Design Modification: An Analysis of the EU Green Leaf Logo

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sustainability labels can help support consumers select more socially and environmentally friendly options, thereby enhancing returns for conscientious producers and promoting the transition to a more sustainable food system. However, consumer confusion regarding labels' meaning undermines their effectiveness.

Functional Nanosensor‐Integrated System Based on Molecularly Imprinted Quartz Crystal Microbalance for Rapid In Situ Detection of 3‐Chloro‐1,2‐Propanediol in Paper‐Based Food Contact Materials

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
This study developed a rapid, in situ, and derivatization‐free detection system for 3‐MCPD in paper‐based food contact materials, based on molecular imprinting and quartz crystal microbalance sensing technologies, achieving a detection limit of 0.006 µM and reducing analysis time by 75% compared to traditional methods.

Model‐based fault diagnosis in closed‐loop safety‐critical chemical reactors: An experimental study

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This experimental study investigates fault detection and estimation in a continuous stirred‐tank reactor (CSTR) system under closed‐loop feedback control, including an analysis of different manipulative inputs for temperature regulation. A novel fault diagnosis approach is proposed, combining residual signal analysis and T2 statistic for real ...

Mapping uncertainty using differentiable programming

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Uncertainty quantification (UQ) and propagation is a ubiquitous challenge in science, permeating our field in a general fashion, and its importance cannot be overstated. Recently, the commoditization of differentiable programming, motivated by the development of machine learning, has allowed easier access to tools for evaluating derivatives of
