Synergistic effects of garlic powder and probiotics on production and growth performance parameters in broiler challenged with coccidia

open access: yesOpen Veterinary Journal
Background: Coccidial intestinal infection induces significant economic losses in the production of birds. It also constitutes a major hazard of drug residues to meat consumers if the coccidia is controlled using anticoccidial drugs.

Eimeria acervulina and Eimeria tenella in 15.B-congenic White Leghorns

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1989
Six Ea-B-congenic lines of chickens were used to study the role of the B histocompatibility complex in susceptibility and immunity to Eimeria tenella and E. acervulina. The B haplotypes were 2, 2, 5, 12, 13, or 19. Parental line 15I5 with the B15 haplotype (15I5-15) and a commercial White Leghorn (CWL) line were also used.
